I’ve Been Seething

Lately I've been overwhelmed by everything wrong with the world - Syria, school shootings, #MeToo, a ridiculous and embarrassing White House, North Korea craziness, the unbearable grief at how we easily murder young black men in our country and as always how so many people around the world mistreat animals. I feel like I have to be on top of everything. Every single day. People would say it's my choice and maybe it seems that way but to me it's reality, it's necessary, it's important. I binge watch CNN, nonstop - unhealthy yes, but do I have a choice, really? t's important to be on top of everything.I recently read a New York Times article - The Man Who Knew Too Little - and while I absolutely understand his desire to live in a world without news I also found it infuriating that he chose to drop out. We need him. We need smart, savvy, wealthy (enough to drop out) people to stay engaged. Every. Single. Day. So my plea for the day is to stay engaged, stay on top of the news, hold them accountable, vote your conscience and be kind to one another and always, to the animals. Whatever you do, don't drop out. We need you.
